In early March this year, another Chinese auto giant made a new move. China European Automotive Technology Co., LTD. (CEVT) has changed its name to Zeekr Technology Europe AB (Zeekr Tech EU). At the same time, the company said that it will strengthen the development direction of innovation and continue to digitalize, advance future mobility solutions, and follow the pace of the global automotive industry to enter a new phase of smart electric vehicles.

Electric Car maker Zeekr is now banking on extra impetus from sister brands such as Volvo Car AB to push into the European market (including Netherlands, Spain, France, Sweden and Italy), as rising global trade tensions threaten the ambitions of Chinese carmakers in Europe.
Zeekr also took the opportunity to show off its 001 FR at the X launch in Europe, a super-powerful version of 001 that compete with Tesla Model S Plaid. Based on four silicon carbide engines delivering 1,248 horsepower, the Zeekr claims to be able to travel 0-62 MPH in 2.07 seconds. The three-motor grid claims to be able to achieve 0-60 MPH acceleration in 1.99 seconds.
How will Zeekr’s electric vehicle sale in 2024? Are there other integrated strategy & new technology to be used for driving sales?

VDA data just showed that German electric car sales felled by 16 percent in 2023, and it forecast battery-electric vehicles will continue dropping extra 9 percent in 2024, which is 451,000 from 524,000. While, it also forecasts that plug-in hybrid sales will grow to 185,000 from 176,000.
Since the cost of EV batteries has been reduced, the market and OEMs are expecting the price of BEV will also reduce. But how would this happen? Will European local EV brans win the business war with ambitious Chinese EV manufacturers? Is it necessary for authorities and associations providing enough support for the whole industry players?

In the past 2023, subsidies for electric vehicles in Europe and the reduction of electric vehicle prices have brought about continued growth in new energy vehicle sales.
